Welcome To My Circus

Blog # 1,
CrossFit Day 9

I started doing CrossFit a couple of weeks ago as a way to workout more consistently. With my hectic schedule the only consistent time available for me to work out is first thing in the morning.

Here’s the deal: I work at a gym, and I rarely workout there. After I’ve been in the gym all day long, the last thing I want to do is be there for another hour, so I’ve started working out 6:00 am doing CrossFit. Honestly, I don’t love the god awful roar of my alarm blaring every morning at 5:30 am, but I do love the feeling of accomplishment after I get my ass handed to me. I even love the feeling of being sore and knowing that I was challenged mentally and physically. Today’s workout involved a lot of pull-ups (There’s ALWAYS pull-ups), push presses and kettle bell swings. After 4 years of playing D1 softball and cursing my coach for making us do the am workouts, who would of thought, I’m willingly getting up when it’s dark to workout.

Moving on… Today the circus called "New Year's Resolutions" begins in the gym, and I have been the chosen ring leader. It’s the first Monday after New Year. It’s the day that discouraged faces will flood through the door, looking for solutions to their holiday weight gain and demanding answers to make the New Year’s resolution stick! I will fill you in on The New Year’s Madness tomorrow...

I’m going to try to start blogging each morning after my workout, before I begin the day. I promise the upcoming blogs will have more structure, and not be so scatter brained. For now, it’s time to get some coffee in me and shower. Hope your day is fab!
